Calvin has had three breeds of dogs during his lifetime. He started with Cocker Spaniels and went out of Cockers and started breeding
and exhibiting Akita's in the 1980's. We had to go out of Akita's in 2009 because Calvin and I both acquired arthritis and Cal couldn't
keep up with the Akita's in the ring and was having a difficult time handling them at home, so we put some of our Akita's out with
handlers for a while, but that took away all the excitement and fun of showing our own dogs and we still couldn't breed them. Cal loves
breeding and showing his own dogs, so we had no other choice than to placed our Akita's in what we thought were nice homes.
We purchased one Bulldog and she is such a pleasure in our life that we decided to purchase some show prospects from some show
breeders. Calvin can show the English Bulldogs. They don't run around the ring, they waddle. We are having so much fun with these
little guys and didn't have to give up breeding and showing.
